About Setak

In the Travel Trade Industry, the foundation of the business is based on the goodwill of the Travel professionals working in the Travel agencies. In Kerala & India, this group of people do not get due importance as they are not bound by any common interest. There have been many instances where the interests of these travel agents have not been fulfilled due to the absence of a strong collective association.

It was a long intended need to start an association which will cater to the interests of the Travel Agents & the travel experience providers in Kerala. This need was finally achieved in 2014 when enterprising members from different Travel Agents around Kerala came together to finalise an association called the Self Employed Travel Agents of Kerala (SETAK). The association was formally formed in January 2015 & today has become a beacon for people in the Travel business.

SETAK apart from looking at the welfare of its members is also catering to find new ways of improving the travel business & being a support factor for other associations. The functioning of SETAK is focussed today on creating a hub of bidding Travel Agents who can flourish in their business with the confidence of having an association behind them. SETAK thus helps its members to be regarded not just as a simple cog in the wheel but the most important link that moves the business forward.

The association started out as a small group but today is spread all along the state with its office in Kozhikode. SETAK was also instrumental in helping, protecting & guiding its members through the tough years of Covid when all the avenues of Travel business were closed. It is by these small interventions that SETAK today is one among the most talked about associations in Kerala.
