Paithal Mala

Paitha mala is an important tourist center situated 65kms east from the Centre of Kannur district on the Kerala-Karnataka border. It is full of greenery and natural beauty and those who like to see forests, enjoy the cold breeze and are adventurous can enjoy Paithal mala. Spread over 4124 acre at 4500 feet height , the hill is full of dense forests. Vaithalkundu and Ezharakkundu waterfalls are key attractions. Angara, a medicinal plant grows in abundance here. A tourist enquiry center and facilities for accommodation are also available at the foot of the hill. Those who love adventurous trekking can go via pathan para and those who want to enjoy the beauty of the forest can go via Manjappullu. During the rainy season travel is difficult here. The hill looks like an elephant when viewed from afar. The kodagu forests are 2kms north of paithalmala. The place is full of long and wide grasslands, chola forests and forest streams. The view of kudagu forests and the sea from the watch tower atop the hill will conquer the heart of any traveler. Rare butterflies flying close together, small birds, big and small waterfalls, and beautiful sights from sky height provide a divine experience.
